With confidence running through Thunder’s veins it was going to take quite something for the Hoods to stop their relentless run of victories in pursuit of a league title for the first time in 15 years.

The first quarter saw an amazing 64 points as defence was abandoned by both sides.

Thunder took a slender 35-29 lead at the first break after 41 points between the sides in the first five minutes set the trend for the entire game.

Ronald Blain, David Moya and Hafeez Abdul led the way, all hitting big scores and you could see the confidence flowing.

Thunder continued to play fast attacking basketball in the second quarter. Veron Eze and Orlan Jackman joined in the fun as Thunder took the period 23-16 as treys rained in from both sides.

At times it looked as if the policy was ‘the best defence is attack’ but with a lead of 58-45 at the halfway stage Thunder were confident of claiming the points.

Thunder hit 30 points in the third quarter restricting Nottingham to just 17.

Eze and Jackman excelled and at the break the lead was 88-62.

Thunder brought on the bench in the final period that allowed Nottingham to hit back with four early treys to bring them back into contention.

But the Thunder pressure was upped once more and they ran out winners by 115-91.

All Thunder’s players contributed to a 10/10 performance. The stats showed only nine fouls given away by Thunder.

It was almost impossible to name a star player - Ronald, David, Hafeez, OJ and Veron proved fantastic starters and with the strong back up it was a terrific team performance.

Thunder have two away games this weekend - on Saturday they visit Westminster Warriors in the league tipping at 5.30pm, then on Sunday they tip at 3pm at Solent Kestrels in the National Cup fifth round.

Two more victories would be ideal as they return to the Thunderdome on December 10 when the other unbeaten side (Hemel Storm) are the visitors, tipping at 7.30pm.
