WORTHING Thunder Basketball Club kept their National League Division 1 play-off hopes in their own hands with a 58-52 victory at leaders Essex Leopards on Sunday.

Thunder had suffered a 98-86 home to Bradford Dragons the previous night, when a win would have sealed a top-eight finish.

Worthing now need one win from their final two matches to clinch a play-off spot.

Thunder entertain second-placed Derby Trailblazers on Saturday, before they finish their season away to bottom-of-the-table Newham Neptunes on April 4.

Victory at home to Derby would guarantee a post-season spot and, if a selection of results goes Worthing’s way, Daniel Hildreth’s men could be seventh by the time they travel to Newham Neptunes for the last game of the regular season.
