Raiders to go all out in last two games

Leaders Raiders thrashed Taunton Titans 68-0 in National 2 South on Saturday and victories in their last two games of the season –at Cornish All Blacks on Saturday and fellow title-chasers Henley Hawks on May 3 – will see them crowned champions.

Raiders had hoped Henley would slip-up in their tricky game at third-placed Hartpury College on Saturday, but Henley came out with a 16-12 win, although failed to pick up a bonus point, so Worthing’s lead increased to eight points but Henley still have a game in hand.

Dawson was delighted with his side’s performance in their victory over Taunton and, on the rest of the season, said: “We’ve got two very tough away games and we know that we’re going to have to do things the hard way.

“But we’re back on track now. We’d gone off the boil a bit but played very well today.

“We’re going to go into both of our remaining games trying to win. Our mindset will be better like that, than trying to just pick up bonus points. It’s a case of trying to go out and score four tries – if we do that, then we will win games.”

Raiders will win the league on Saturday if they are victorious at Cornish All Blacks and Henley lose at home to Dings Crusaders.
