Raiders hang on to beat Lydney

WORTHING Raiders Rugby Club moved up to sixth in National 2 South with a 34-26 win over Lydney on Saturday (November 6).

Raiders started well and led 28-6 at half-time.

They extended the lead to 31-6 in the second half before Lydney came back strongly to make the score 31-26.

But a Matt McLean penalty ended any Worthing nerves and sealed the win.

Worthing’s tries came from Greg Sullivan, McLean, with two, and Jamie Redmayne.

McLean also kicked all four conversions and two penalties.
