After an excellent 39-12 win over high-flying Coventry the previous weekend, Raiders came back down to earth with a bump at bottom-of-the-table Hull, who had registered just two bonus points from nine league games prior to the match.

Hull opened the scoring after three minutes when Alex Campbell crashed over and Lloyd Hayes kicked the conversion.

Raiders got on the scoresheet with a Joe Govett penalty, before Hayes replied with a penalty for Hull.

Govett converted his own try to make the score 10-10 on 17 minutes but two more penalties from Hayes saw the hosts lead 16-10 at half-time.

Hayes added another penalty early in the second half, before he soon converted a penalty try to make the score 26-10.

Worthing then stepped up the pace with unconverted tries from Ollie Richards and Liam Perkins to cut the deficit to six points.
