Raiders moved up a place to tenth in the table and are now nine points ahead of Tynedale, who had won their previous three games but have dropped to second from bottom.

Worthing made a bright start and got their opening try after just two minutes as Kiba Richards chipped the ball over the Tynedale defence for Liam Perkins to touch down.

Joe Govett was unable to add the extras and Raiders were unable to make the most of another couple of opportunities as they knocked the ball on in good positions.

Tynedale drew level when Sep Visser went over in the corner for an unconverted try.

Govett put Raiders back ahead with a penalty on 24 minutes, before they increased their lead five minutes later when Sam Hewick grounded the ball after a driving maul from a line-out.

Govett converted to put Worthing 15-5 ahead and they moved further ahead just before half-time when Kiba Richards fed Ben Loosmore, who touched down after a run down the left. Govett’s conversion made the half-time score 22-5.

Tynedale’s Kristian Borthwick closed the gap four minutes into the second half with a converted try but Raiders soon had their four-try bonus point.

Govett, Kieran Leeming and Loosmore all combined for Kiba Richards to touch down and Govett again converted.

Tynedale converted a penalty try in the final minute but Raiders held on to win 29-19, which prevented the visitors from picking up any bonus points.
