KIBA Richards made an impressive debut for the England Counties rugby team on Friday evening, when France Federale won 16-15 with a late penalty.

Richards came on for the final 32 minutes of the game and Raiders captain Matt Miles said: “I’ve spoken to James Shanahan, the backs coach, who told me that Kiba came on and was outstanding.

“He was running through gaps, people were falling off his tackles and it was great for Kiba to be involved.

“He deserved it as he’s been one of the most outstanding players for the club since he’s been back for the last two-and-a-half years.”

Richards will also be part of the England Counties squad, who play the Ireland Clubs XV at Darlington Mowden Park on February 21, when Raiders have a free week.

Miles feels it is another acknowledgement for Worthing and said: “It’s a good platform for players to come here. Joe Launchbury and Joe Marler have gone on to play for England.

“James Chisholm, who played for the England under-20 team on Saturday, has been fantastic for us this season and it’s an honour for Kiba to play for the England Counties as well.”
