Sanctuary celebrating double winning delight

THE Racehorse Sanctuary at Cowfold has been given two boosts.

It is run by Graham Oldfield and Sue Collins, who originally created the Moorcroft Racehorse Welfare Centre, and one of its two patrons, Julie Routledge-Martin, has registered a two-year-old gelding with Wetherby's in the name of Sanctuary to run under rules on behalf of the charity.

He is a well-grown chestnut colt by Dr Fong out of a winning mare named Wondrous Maid and will soon be leaving Julie's stud farm in Derbyshire to go into training with Bryan Smart in Yorkshire, with a percentage of his winnings donated to this charity.

Julie and her husband, David, have been hugely instrumental in helping to finance the setting up of The Racehorse Sanctuary and Rehoming Centre and continue to support the charity in every way they can.
