OAKWOOD School U10A football team took part in the IAPS Ryde Football Tournament recently, winning the event in convincing style. The tournament was well organised and was a great success with 11 IAPS schools entering the event.

After a vigorous round robin event, the U10 Oakwood School team made it into the semi-finals where they faced and beat their local rivals, Westbourne House.

Durlston Court played St John's in the parallel semi-final, knocking them out of the competition. Oakwood School then played Durlston Court in the final where a fantastic game was enjoyed. The score was 0-0 after full-time and extra time. Oakwood School won the final in a tense and thrilling penalty shoot-out.

Bobby Skelton, head of games at Oakwood School commented: "Their teamwork was dynamic and they were a credit to the school."
