Sidley unlucky not to post first win

SIDLEY avoided defeat for the first time this season and were unlucky not to claim victory against Sussex Two leaders Cuckfield.

Sidley managed to post a decent target of 186-9, with skipper Pete King leading by example with a majestic 69 and Scott Woodroffe reaching 59.

Neil Divall (3-36) was the most successful bowler.

Cuckfield held on at the stumps at 140-9 with Richard Ames proving to be their saviour with an undefeated 69.

The evergreen Tyrone Wildman finished with 3-36 and Woodroffe 3-12.

Bexhill finally found some consistency, unfortunately by losing their third consecutive game.

Lewes Priory posted a poor target of 118-9 due to good work from skipper Sam Roberts (3-53), Matt Blackman (2-21) and Mark Nightingale (2-27).

However, the pace of Kashif Ibrahim was just about unplayable as Bexhill failed to reach Lewes' score, and he bowled unchanged with outstanding figures of 9-31 as the hosts were skittled out for just 80.
