Steyning Grammar lead the way in District Athletics Championships

STEYNING Grammar School came out on top at the Southern Area Sports Partnership Secondary District Athletics Championships last Wednesday.

There were 13 schools who took part in the event at Worthing Leisure Centre, where each school adopted an Olympic national identity and adorned themselves with flags and colours to celebrate the London 2012 Games.

The overall champions were Steyning (Antigua), who won the girls’ competition and finished second in the boys’ event behind Durrington (Jamaica).

There were many outstanding performances throughout the afternoon, and for a full report and pictures pick up Thursday’s Worthing Herald, Shoreham Herald or Littlehampton Gazette.
