Talley the latest new face at Thunder

WORTHING Thunder Basketball Club have signed American guard, Christopher Talley, for the upcoming EBL Division 1 season.

The 23-year-old 6ft 2in guard, from South Carolina, comes out of Fairmont State and is best known for his deadly, long-range accuracy.

In his second year, he shot a solid 42 per cent from behind the three-point line.

Thunder will be his first overseas experience and Thunder head coach Gary Smith said: “Chris is a great signing for us.

“He is a very mature player for his age, who can most certainly shoot, looking at the game tape and his stats.

“He is a passionate leader on the court, too, and with the squad we will have this year, it is vital that we have a player like Chris that can control the floor and guide others as well.”

He will make his Thunder debut on Saturday when Thunder host Guildford Heat in a pre-season friendly.

He joins Thunder’s other new signings so far, Amato Frangkiskos and Courtney Small.

The game is dedicated to former Thunder player Billy Hungrecker, who died in July.

Tip-off is 7.30pm and tickets are £7 for adults, £5 for children and £20 for a family of four.

The competitive action starts for Thunder on September 18 when they travel to Team Solent in the EBL Cup.
