The American averaged just over 11 points per game with Morehead last season.

Chavis made his club bow on Saturday and picked up 10 points before coming off with cramp, following his gruelling trip from America.

Worthing Thunder coach Daniel Hildreth spoke of his delight as he finally signed the American.

He said: “After a long and gruelling process of recruitment I am thrilled to welcome Milton to the Thunder family,”

“I believe he will be a great fit for the team and his style of play will compliment our roster.

Milton is extremely athletic and I’m sure the fans will witness many highlights over the season.

“The versatility he will offer should cause match up problems for our opponents and his athleticism and work rate will help the side.

“We have a great group of united guys working really hard for each other and that is one of the traits that I found in Milton.

“He is going to give his all for his team and the fans every night.

“Being his first time out of America I know we will make it a home away from home for him on and off the court.”
