Thunder host fourth-from-bottom Tees Valley Mohawks at Worthing Leisure Centre but go into the game on the back of five successive defeats.

Worthing lost 79-64 at home to Reading Rockets on Saturday and then went down 92-84 against Team Northumbria on Sunday and Hildreth said: “We need to get back to winning ways quickly before we find ourselves in a real battle just to make the play-offs.

“At this stage, I think we will do and will be comfortable to get a play-off spot. Whether we come sixth, seventh or eighth, I can’t tell you but, to be honest, I don’t know who’s going to come one, two and three, so it’s probably irrevelant. It’s just getting there and that’s our main focus.

“We’re not going to do it unless we put in 40-minute performances and that’s something, with a week’s rest and a week’s preparation, I hope we’ll get right this week.

“Tees Valley are a very scrappy team, they’re a team that can get going and they have a couple of individuals who are very strong, particularly with scoring.

“We had a very close game up there, with a buzzer-beating score from Milton Chavis but I’d like to think that if we put on a more complete performance, we’ll be back to winning ways.”
