WEBBER IS WICK'S WINNER

A SHAKY start, a growing realisation that the opposition was none too special and finally, a wave of confidence sweeping through the entire team.

That was Wick at Crabtree Park on Saturday as they squeezed out only their sixth Sussex County League win of the season.

The team that had previously conceded 101 goals in 31 league games never seriously looked like giving away No 102. In fact, home goalkeeper Michael Oakley just watched an occasional effort fly either high or wide of his goal.

At the other end, there were several clear chances for Wick and the one which counted came three minutes into the second half.
