Wickers win at Oak

NICK GREEN struck the only goal in Southwick's win at Mile Oak on Wednesday.

Green took a quickly-taken free kick from 25 yards which went in via a post after just 11 minutes.

Oak keeper Mark Stuart then kept it at 1-0 when he denied Green, through one-on-one, shortly afterwards.

Oak did not get going in the first half, although did match Wickers' work-rate after half-time. They failed to create any clear chances, though, and Southwick keeper Keith Cheal had only long-range efforts from Paul Eaton, Chris Pulling and Craig Hall to deal with.

At the other end, Jamie Stideford and Archie Macabie both missed opportunities to double Southwick's lead.
