Visitors will be able to wander through the Castle, starting at the drawbridge which has been previously inaccessible to visitors.

Given the narrow corridors in some areas of the Castle, the bedrooms, Keep and Armoury and some other rooms will be unavailable. However the Regency Library, Barons’ Hall, Drawing Room, Dining Room and view of the Grand Staircase will all be open. Guides will be positioned in each room to offer information and explanations to visitors.

Visitors are invited to pre-book tickets via the Castle website. Tickets will be issued on a weekly basis, on a Friday for the following week. The first release of tickets will be available to purchase from Friday, July 24 via http://www.arundelcastle.org.

Special ticket prices have been released for access to the Castle and the Gardens: £15 for adults, £5 for children and £35 for families of two adults and up to two children. The existing Gardens-only tickets of £10 for adults, £5 for children, will remain in place. Open Tuesday to Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday.

Castle Manager Stephen Manion commented: “It’s been a delight to welcome back visitors to our Gardens and watch them marvel at our stunning displays of flowers and discover our new Water Gardens.

“Since we reopened our Gardens at the beginning of July, the most commonly asked question has been ‘when will we reopen the Castle?’ so we’re very excited to be able to confirm that visitors will once again be able to explore inside our walls for the first time since October 2019.

“Unfortunately, due to social distancing regulations, we are unable to reopen our café and restaurant and therefore no catering will be provided. We urge our visitors to explore the wonderful town of Arundel to take advantage of the many delicious food and drink options on offer.”
