A frog with a special talent is helping to teach children that it is okay to be different.
The Frog That Couldn’t Croak is the first of ten books to be published by Worthing author James Cavill, teaching young children about different topics in a humorous way.
“I got my inspiration to write this book from my two young children Jack and Katie,” explained James.
“I also showed a friend my idea I had for a character a year ago this month and the feedback I got back drove me to put this idea into practice.”
His first book is an interesting tale about a frog that does not realise his talent until his new friend shows him the gift he has.
Bertie and Barney are important characters to the story because of their kind and warm-hearted appearance.
James added: “The book goes back to a more natural appearance with the illustrations being watercolour and the lettering looking like it’s been written by someone who’s just learned how to write.
“It doesn’t hide anything, what you see is what you see.”
James describes himself as ‘an average guy’ who had an idea and kept adding to it, until it turned into a tale.
He said he had always been creative but had not realised he could do something constructive with it until now. A bit of a prankster at heart, he likes to turn a bad situation into a bit of light humour.
“Laughter is the best medicine in the world and I hope to bring my readers plenty more of it in all my future books I write,” he said.
The Frog That Couldn’t Croak is published by AuthorHouse UK.
