HISTORY: LIttlehampton Local History Society

LITTLEHAMPTON Local History Society's first meeting of the new year will feature a talk by historian Sylvia Endacott on preparations made for D-Day in a West Sussex seaside resort.

Sylvia will describe how the Bognor Regis Advanced Landing Ground, a temporary airfield, was used in the run-up to the Normandy landings in June, 1944, by numerous squadrons.

The meeting is at the Friends' Meeting House, Church Street, Littlehampton, at 2.30pm on Saturday (January 9) and admission is 2 for non-members.
