OPEN DAY: Sompting Parish Council

PEOPLE living in Sompting will have the chance to talk about the village to their parish councillors at a special open day.

The event will be at Sompting Community Centre, in Loose Lane, on Saturday, Noevmber 21, from 10am to 4pm.

People will be able to talk to councillors about what their local council is doing now and how it hopes to build on successes in the future.

Parish council chairman Barry Mear said: "I know of residents' confusion in understanding what a local council does and achieves for them, compared to district and county councils, and why they have a parish precept levied each year with their council tax.

"This is a great opportunity for residents to discuss with us the council's function."
