PREVIEW: Adam's new piano cake - and he'll eat it

NEW Brighton Music have a St Valentine's Day piano presentation with a difference on February 14.

Their Coffee and Cake Concert will be at The Friends Meeting House, Ship Street, Brighton, at the appropriate time of 3.30pm.

It will feature seven freshly contemporary works, played by pianist Adam Swayne (and to suit the occasion, one assumes there will be some up-to-date romance).

They will be: Sonata Across Four Elements by Julian Broughton; Three Pieces for Piano, by Barry Mills; is will be was, by John Alexander; Sonatina for Piano, by Jonathan Clark; Releasing, by Guy Richardson; Piano Pie, by Patrick Harrex (not available on the cake menu); and Twelve Variations on a Cadence by Francisco Tarrega, by Ric Graebner.

This showcase for original music making in the region is backed by Brighton & Hove City Council and the Performing Right Society Foundation for New Music.

Tickets are 8 (concessions 5) at the door and it will be free for children.
