A Rolling Stone's date with Chichester

Former Rolling Stone Bill Wyman has been confirmed as one of the big names at this year's Blues on the Farm just outside Chichester.

Organiser Julian Moores is hoping to be back with a bang in the festival’s usual June slot after waterlogged grounds forced last summer’s event to be put back to September.

“What a nightmare year!” Julian said. “Postponement, rain, more rain, re-scheduling and eventually a lovely September weekend with wall-to-wall sunshine.”

Julian added: “We’re well into planning Blues on the Farm 2013 which will be our 22nd anniversary festival, and we are lining-up some terrific bands and musicians.”

“The festival features four nights and three full days of terrific music with up to seven bands playing each day. We’re really excited to be welcoming the fabulous Larry Miller Band on Thursday evening together with Grainne Duffy who was unable to re-schedule to September last year.

“There’s new talent with the likes of Jo Harman and Goldie Reed plus hard solid blues from Giles Robson and the Dirty Aces, Bill Wyman’s Rhythm Kings, Never the Bride and Mud Morganfield.”

The dates are Thursday, June 20-Sunday, June 23. Log onto www.bluesonthefarm.co.uk to buy online or call on 01243 773828.

Julian added: “We’re looking for volunteers to lend a hand with certain aspects of the festival, from assisting with the set-up to marshalling the campsite and car parks, as well as site servicing, pulling the pints and artist liaison.

“If you would like to lend a hand, for each day worked we’ll give you a free one-day ticket for the following day. Please do give us a call on 01243 773828 or e-mail us at [email protected] if you are interested in finding out more.”
