ROPETACKLE: What's on this week at Shoreham's Ropetackle Centre

The "green shoots" of recovery are not so much peeping through as bustin' out all over at Ropetackle '“ and there are still nearly four months go to June.

The first day of February brought a sell-out in the form of Herbie Flowers' ever-popular Jazz Breakfast.

Perhaps there was still some curry left on the menu because, two days earlier, the centre had again been packed to the gunwales for a Comedy and Curry Night, courtesy of The Noise Next Door, a five-strong comedy act getting great press for their ludicrous characters, barbed one-liners and musical extravagance.

Dance Fever

This weekend brings a change of tack, with Dinkie Flowers Stage School presenting Dance Fever II on Saturday, February 7.

An evening of dance to delight audiences of all tastes is promised.

Pupils will be dancing to music from everything from Mamma Mia! to Cabaret, and will also be performing their own version of The Wizard of Oz.

There will be guest appearances by Nigel Peters, Katie Peters and Siobhan Chapman.

Tickets are 10, doors open at 6.45pm for the 7.30pm show 7.30pm

Coming soon

On Friday, February 13, at 7pm '“ Richard Durrant's hugely successful musical variety night takes off again.

Expect anything, take nothing for granted at The Airport Club, complete with Malcolm Buchanan-Dick's legendary VJ harmonium and your genial host with at least a guitar in hand.

Doors open at 7pm, music from 8pm, tickets 8 in advance, 10 on the door.
