ROPETACKLE: What's on this week at Shoreham's Ropetackle Centre

YOUR one-stop guide to what's coming up at the Ropetackle Arts Centre, Little High Street, Shoreham, in the next week.

Ropetackle's regular big fund- raiser comes tonight (Thursday, January 29) in the form of a glorified pub quiz called Trivia at the Tackle.

It's hosted each month by a stand-up comic and includes all sorts of entertaining multi-media trickery.

All the profits go to support the arts centre '“ and team members can now order a fish-and-chip supper, which arrives in the interval.

Tickets are 3 doors open at 7.30pm for an 8.15pm start.

The Noise Next Door

Friday is the Ropetackle debut gig for young comedians The Noise Next Door.

Their Comedy and Curry Night consists of curry at 7pm and comedy at 8pm.

Tickets are 12, which includes the curry.

With sell-out shows at the Brighton and Edinburgh fringe festivals and regular slots supporting top-class comedians, including Harry Hill, Ed Byrne and Lucy Porter, The Noise Next Door will have you chortling the night away with their ludicrous characters, barbed one-liners and musical extravagance.

Jazz

On Sunday morning it's Herbie's Jazz Breakfast.

This regular Sunday morning get-together continues with Herbie Flowers and Dave Trigwell.

It's best to book early as the place is always packed to the seams.

Tea, coffee and refreshments will be available at the licensed bar.

Tickets for adults are 7, children 2, 11am start.

Sussex on Film

On Wednesday, February 4, the Shoreham Society presents Sussex on Film.

This is a large-screen presentation of rare and historic amateur and professional films, with a Shoreham bias.

There will be a sale of books and DVDs.

Doors open at 7pm, the films start at 7.30pm.

Tickets are 4, or 2 for Shoreham Society and Friends of Ropetackle members.
