WORTHING SYMPHONY SOCIETY NEWS: Reception in Elizabethan manor house

A RECEPTION in one of the few remaining Elizabethan manor houses in Sussex will be the centrepiece of the Worthing Symphony Society's inter-season activity. It will be at Ecclesden Manor, the Angmering home of one of WSS patrons, Mrs Sue Holland, on Sunday, May 3.

End-of-season wine and canaps will be enjoyed, with a special raffle, and music from WSO conductor John Gibbons and members of the orchestra. The extensive gardens were redesigned by John Brookes.

The event will take place between 12.30pm-2pm. Parking is easy and there are facilities for the disabled. Tickets are 5 but limited to two per member, who may bring a maximum of two guests each, at 6 each.

The Society fully funded four concerts this season, including the two of lighter classical music by the Alassio Concert Orchestra, who can be a helpful introduction to classical music for newcomers.
