Horley mum-of-three Kirsty Tickner has dropped from 13st 7lb to 9st 7lb using the Slimming World plan and has now trained as a consultant. Her new weekly group will start at Horley Town Football Club on Monday August 29 at 7.30pm. She said: “When I first joined Slimming World as a member, I never dreamed that I would end up helping other people to lose weight but now I just can’t wait to get started. “After losing 4st and completing my training, it’s a privilege for me to be able to pass on the experience, insight and understanding that helped me, so that I can give my members the support they need to get to their target. On my journey with Slimming World I have learnt so many things that are now a way of life, I’m never hungry and I don’t crave as much anymore. “After an unfortunate accident in 2003 I had my leg crushed and I was unable to run due to the pain on my leg which made me do less, I then had children which also put on the pounds. With Slimming World I learnt how to live healthier and I lost weight. I can now run to meet my children from school and I can play in the park with them without feeling conscious of my weight. I love being able to run and not getting out of breath. “Before Slimming World my emotions were all over the place just down to my weight. I felt saddened and I used to wear baggy clothes to cover my lumps and bumps.” She found that being part of a group was crucial to her success. She said: “Support is really the most important thing. It all starts with feeling that you’re not alone. I couldn’t have lost 4st without the weekly help, encouragement and understanding of my own consultant and group. “As someone who has lost weight myself I know the challenges people can face, which is why, along with the group, I will be there to support every one of my members all the way to their chosen target weight.” To join Kirsty’s group just turn up on Monday August 29 or call her on 07890 141974.
