Adur chairman ‘keen to get involved’
The annual council meeting at Adur Civic Centre was attended by 150 people, who went on to enjoy music and dancing after the formal meeting.
Mr Mendoza said he had looked forward to the position for many years and promised to take it very seriously, before paying tribute to outgoing chairman Peter Metcalfe.

Hide Ad“Peter has brought a new respect to Adur and to this position that he loved so much, his tireless efforts on behalf of his fellow ex-servicemen has been noticed around the country,” he said
Mr Mendoza’s chosen charity for the year is Chestnut Tree House, and representatives from the children’s hospice were among the audience.
He was keen to promote public involvement in council actitivies and said he wanted to be involved with as much as possible.
“I have already had several invitations to events and with so many event being held, I am sure that any jokes about my large corporation will be justified,” he joked.
He looked forward to the many events in the district in the coming year.
Fred Lewis has been appointed as vice-chairman for 2013/14.
