Burgess Hill mayor visits Schmallenberg in Germany to mark twinning anniversary
Town council representatives and the Mid Sussex Brass Band also played an important part in the celebrations.
Councillor Anne Jones said town twinning ‘is more important than ever with Brexit on the horizon’.

Hide AdShe said: “This year we celebrated 30 years and this was a special visit, even more so with Brexit, we wanted our old and new friends to know that we valued our long relationship between our two countries.
“Val and Maureen have been involved with Schmallenberg for thirty years and their children really benefitted from the first trip with their school and their story is inspiring and the warm welcome and speeches were great.
“For our town mayor this was her first experience of twinning and Schmallenberg,
“We are working with our schools to continue to benefit the next generation.”
