Gavin supports Macmillan Cancer Support

Gavin Holden is unlikely to forget his 50th birthday. His mother died the day he and twin brother Neil turned 50 but he went ahead with his party and raised £245 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Gavin (pictured), of Scholars Walk, said: "I had organised a party for my 50th to be held at the Red Lion in Hooe.

"On my birthday party invitations I had asked for no presents but donations instead to Macmillan Cancer Support. I had told my mum that was what I was doing and it brought a tear to her eye. She was very pleased I did that.
