The council said fairgrounds are still allowed to take place in parks as open spaces as long as the organisers have completed all the necessary risk assessments and have public liability insurance in place.
A spokesman added: “There is a Covid-19 specific risk assessment that requires operators to demonstrate that they can operate in line with Government guidance, which includes the new ‘Rule of Six’, social distancing, track and trace, cleaning etc. It is then the responsibility of the organisers to manage these during their events.”

Hide AdIt comes after concerns were raised over a ‘huge fairground’ on Lindfield Common and another in Burgess Hill.
Residents expressed fears over ‘mass gatherings’, putting people’s health at risk.
The council spokesman added: “The funfair at Lindfield Common has submitted all the required documentation and the event complies fully with the current Government legislation.
“We will be carrying out site visits to ensure they have everything in place.”
