'˜Massive blow' as Heath lose Moore to break horror

The prolific goalscorer suffered a broken cheek bone and jaw during the club’s 0-0 draw in their penultimate friendly match at Chipstead on Tuesday night.
Moore, who came through the youth set-up at Heath, rejoined the Bears this summer after a short spell at Loxwood last term.

Hide AdHe sustained the double break in an innocuous challenge at Chips as he clashed heads with an opponent.
He’s awaiting an operation next week and doctors have estimated he could be out for up to eight weeks, but Painter will not be rushing him back.
The Heath boss said: “It’s ended up as a real nightmare. It’s a terrible, terrible thing. He’s set to have an operation on Tuesday and a metal plate put in his face.
“It’s a big blow and he will be a big miss. He had come back with a great attitude and been first class in pre-season.

Hide Ad“He will play some part in the season and the time frame we are looking at is apparently six to eight weeks, but that seems quick to me.
“The priority is not football at the moment, it’s about looking after him as an individual.
“It’s a massive, massive blow for the whole club. We have to replace him with someone and how do you do that? He scored 33 goals last year.”
