Here is a list of places that are a short walk or drive away for some good views, picnic spots, hiking and running areas for friends, families, or a solo adventurer. Some places on this list, like the Angmering Park Estate, have private areas but these are always signposted.
9. Windy Ridge
Starting to stray further away from Littlehampton but still accessible for most is a beauty spot that many have not heard of. Just off Long Furlong is Michelgrove Lane, a small country track. As you drive down here, you will see a small dirt layby which is suitable for parking. On the left, a footpath leads into some woods. This is steep at first but levels out, at the top you will head right. As you follow this footpath, you will come to an intersection - follow around to the right. If you spot some beehives you know you are on track. You will catch a glimpse of a view but keep going. Eventually you will come to a metal gate, follow the path up the hill and go through another metal gate. You will see a trig point on the hill and when standing on top of the hill on a clear day, you will see Arundel Park, Harrow Hill, Littlehampton and the surrounding area, and even the Isle of Wight.
