I'm not a fan of any of the 20 teams involved this season - my lot, Pompey, are enjoying an extended holiday in League One and will relocate back to the promised land when they want to thank-you very much. But you may detect in my summary that for some of the teams I have axes to grind. That's half the fun of it though, isn't it? And I can say hand on heart I've not placed any team lower than I want to just because I don't like them*. If you disagree with my selections furiously, do have a go yourself - tweet me at @stevebone1 and post your own finishing positions, then we can all reconvene in May and see who knows best. (* apart from Leicester).
13. Southampton
With all the money they've made from selling talented if over-priced players down the years, they should be set up for life. But you never know when they're going to start to sink and then carry on in that direction til there's no further trace of them. Until that day arrives, I should imagine they're looking at finishing about 13th. Their season will be as uninteresting and uninspiring as everything else about them. Prediction: 13th.
14. Leicester
I make no secret of the fact I don't like Leicester. They cheated my Pompey out of the play-offs in 1993 but I didn't care for them much before that either. Their title win in 2016 put me through hell but happily they've not done much since and I was an almost-lone voice midway through last season in telling all who cared to listen they'd not get into the Champions League. And they didn't. This season, they'll struggle and will be back to the half of the table that's more them. Prediction: 14th
15. Aston Villa
After a lucky escape last term, they could be in for another season-long relegation battle. But I do think the Premier League needs plenty of proper big clubs so I'll tip them to improve as 20-21 goes on and survive, with Jack Grealish scoring 40% of their goals and making 80% of their headlines. Dean Smith could be one of the first three Prem bosses sacked, though. Prediction: 15th
16. West Brom
If my Leeds prediction involved me sticking my neck out, this one involves me, well, sticking it out even further. I. Think. West. Brom, Will. Stay. Up. Don't worry, I intend to get treatment for this condition first thing in the morning and shall tell the practitioner in charge that I even think they'll finish above 17th. Prediction: 16th
